Heath Cousins

Just before we left we had to get a picture with all the boys. It's always interesting to get a bunch of little kids to all smile at once, let alone looking at the camera. Here is our best attempt:

Andrew had no desire to be told what to do and of course Preston just saw something he could grab.

How did we get all of the boys attention? We sang "slippery fish." Derek caught on pretty quick and eventually they all got into it but they seemed a little confused at first. "Why are all of these adults acting so weird?"

Andrew may have been putting up the biggest fight to sit there but he also got into it more than the rest

Even Preston could do the "octopus, octopus"

"oh no!" Logan's face is my favorite!

 "Is the song over?"

then of course the next thing to do is take the toy

 and resume crying

quick to say sorry and forgive especially when there are 8 adults watching

Not sure what Andrew was mad about this time but Logan sure was a sweetheart to try to comfort him.

Don't worry, uncle Jared will let you comfort him.

Preston still just wide eyed and oblivious to all the drama as long as he has his fingers to chew.

Dallas Trip: The Zoo and Rangers Game

Last week we flew down to Dallas for a little vacation to visit Jared's family. Since we've been married I haven't had much opportunity to get to know Mitch (Jared's oldest brother) and Kadi and they hadn't met Preston yet. The first couple of days we spent just catching up and getting to know each other better. Once Austin and Lanae got there with their families it was a few days full of fun activities. I have to say this was the perfect kind of vacation for me, a couple days just to relax then wear ourselves out with activities.

Now for LOTS of pictures:
Dallas Zoo

Aunt Kadi and Preston waiting to head to the zoo.

Derek, such a stud with uncle Jared's glasses

Preston's not a big fan of water

Cousin Andrew

I may not have had the courage to hold the crabs at the mall a few days before this but I did hold the bird with it's sharp little feet.

Issac and Aunt Kadi climbing through the tunnels to see some little animal I don't remember the name of.

Liz, Isaac, Derek, and Kadi looking at some animal that I didn't really pay attention to what because I just wanted to take a picture.

My handsome husband with his orange glasses that are, unfortunately, lost somewhere in that zoo. Or hopefully someone else found them and are now enjoying being cool while everyone else (possibly even their wife) makes fun of their cool glasses.

Preston loves watching things move. The TV, our front loading washing machine, and these fish. He kept trying to lean closer and closer.

Cute cousins Derek and Isaac both with plaid shorts and crooked hats.

I loved this flower. I want to find out what it is so one day when we have a house with flower beds I can plan it.

Lanae being a model even if it was for only a second until she realized I was taking so many pictures.

The whole clan, minus Colton who is on his mission. (even though you can't see Logan or Preston their strollers made it into the picture)

Austin and Andrew on the carrousel just before we left.

Rangers game

This was our first major league baseball game. They lost 4-7 but we still had fun.

Preston always chewing on something. Even Lanae's shirt.

David and Lanae. Even if David did blink we still love them.

Aunt Liz. Preston sure loved all of the attention from everyone.

I'm bummed I didn't realize this was blurry. It's such a cute picture of Mitch and Kadi
Love my boys!

Happy Birthday to Our Missionary Brothers

Both Jared and I have a younger brother on a mission and their birthdays happen to be just a few days apart. We went Saturday to take pictures of Preston wishing them happy birthday. These are just a few of our favorites as we were getting Preston ready for the day and then at the park.

He has started doing really cute things with his lips. This is just one instant of a series of faces he makes.
These keys are one of his favorite toys.
