Valentine's Week in Pictures

Last Monday was Valentine's Day for most people, but for me and Sereen, it was only the beginning.

It started out with a dozen of these beauties:

And on Wednesday, Sereen busted out some of these after our morning workout:

And then--after a solid month and a half of 6am gym sessions--Sereen and I went to Salt Lake for the weekend.

 We ate here Friday night:

Stayed here Friday and Saturday night:
Got a bucket of bagels for breakfast Saturday and Sunday from here:

Swam here after a fantastic workout (yes, this is an indoor/outdoor pool--so cool!):
And went here for lunch Saturday (and consequently had no need of dinner that day):

While eating at Tucanos and getting Sereen some s w e e t running shoes, we parked in an area that happened to honor my cutie-patootie (remember, folks: puh-2-dee!):

Then we went to the temple after our stomachs had digested somewhat (some of us had an easier time of it than others...). 'Twas glorious, grand, and joyful!

Sunday morning was bright and somewhat early for us. We went to Music and the Spoken Word:

Then we went marching around in the snow and cold taking these:

Until we got very, well . . . :

Then on the way home, we got stuck behind this thirteen-car pile-up:

Then it was off to a 1:00 Sacrament meeting here in Provo, a nice long nap, followed by The Other Side of Heaven (during which our TV finally went kaput), and an entire 8x8 pan of these gorgeous wonders:

We still have one left:

How was your weekend?

007, Bourne, Hunt--They aint got nothin' on this girl

I'm sure that you all love your wife, but here's why Sereen is stellar-er than any other woman, ever.

How many of you have a wife who did this for the first time . . .

And did this with the first bullet?

I'm one proud husband.

The fine folks that took us shooting. We were using Chad's Hungarian Makarov, 9mm.

New piano and a broken computer

I've been wanting to update our blog to make sure I don't leave you all hanging but there are always more fun things to do than sitting in front of a computer, like hanging out with my husband. This last week especially has been tricky because the back light on my computer went out so I have been without my computer for a week. I get it back today!! While without my computer I had to plan out my days a little better so that I could use the campus computers. By the time I was done with work and homework I would be ready to go home and had no desire to do anything fun on the computer, like shopping or blogging. Even though I am still on a campus computer today I need a distraction from work, so here I am.

Speaking of my computer breaking there is a bit of a story to go with that day. It happened last Wednesday evening. We had invited a few people over for our first annual crepe night. There is a holiday in France on February 2nd in which they celebrate by eating crepes, so Jared and I decided to make it a family tradition to have crepes on February second (random, I know, but so much fun). We had been talking for months about getting me a digital piano. The night before our crepe party we had gone shopping to find a good deal and a piano I wouldn't mind playing on for a few years until we were in a position in life to get an acoustic piano. We found one but I wasn't ready to commit, not until we had shopped around a little more to see where else we might find a good deal. By 5:30 the next day (an hour and a half before the crepe party) Jared had done nothing but look for a better deal; there wasn't anything better so he convinced me that he had to go that evening to get the one we found the night before. He really spoils me. When he got back we had half an hour to do some quick rearranging of our furniture to get it to fit and then I went to the kitchen to make crepes while Jared cleaned up the mess that comes with moving bookshelves around. The recipe was on my computer so I opened it up and there it was, NOTHING! my screen was black with a hint of an image if I was in the right light. Not even half an hour after we had bought the piano my laptop was giving me grief. With the aid of a flashlight I was able to read the recipe then put the computer away and enjoy the rest of the evening. It was definitely a lot of fun and good to spend that time with some family and a few old friends. Once the guests had all left it was time to face the problem at hand. I turned my computer off and on a couple times praying that would fix the problem but as luck would have it the back light was officially out. We had to extend the warranty because it had expired ONE WEEK ago then we were able to send my computer off to get fixed and I got to enjoy my new piano.

I want to post pictures of when we went shooting with some friends a couple weekends ago but they are on Jared's phone and I would rather him tell that story. I will just leave you in suspense and see if I can't convince him to do that soon.
