Oh, You Know, Just a Little Hike Is All...

I have a confession. I have the lung capacity of a two-year old. But the hike was a lot of fun in a beautiful area! We were hiking in the mountains past Alta Ski Resort. Here's a list of pictures with just a few explanations:

Beautiful lady!

Precious Preston

I definitely need to work on my lung capacity.

We are a happy fam-i-ly!

He had SO much fun playing in the dirt. He let us know that he did not approve of any plans that removed him from his newfound playground.

Beautiful views

I tried to smile...but I was just grateful to have made it!

Twin lakes, looking at Brighton Ski Resort

He was livid that we were going home, and the only thing that would make him happy was...a rock. He sucked on it/chewed it quite a bit.

Quite tuckered out. Sereen felt that he was far too uncomfortable with his neck bent sideways, so...

...we did this. He is completely passed out.

It was a great hike! (Though it definitely could have been better marked out. We had several forks in the road where he had to decide, and one time where we missed our turn. Still lots of fun, though.)

Softball

This last Saturday Austin and Liz invited us to come to their company softball tournament. It was fun to get out first thing Saturday morning and have a full day with family.

I tried getting a picture of Isaac but the sun was too bright for him to look at me.

This wasn't the home run hit but the next time was definitely a home run. Way to go Austin!

Here's Liz doing what she loves, sports and being a mom. Right before this she was in the bleachers nursing her baby. She's a cool mom like that.

It is so fun to see Preston interacting with his cousins and wanting to grow up and play with them. Isaac and Andrew are good sports and let him play even though Preston only wants what everyone else has.

Preston's new tricks

Whenever I talk to Lanae (Jared's sister) she asks what Preston's new tricks are. Here are a couple videos and pictures of this growing boy and his newest tricks.

Preston prefers to walk around when we are willing to hold him up. He's a bit unstable still but he is determined to grow up. He loves to be with us and climbs up on our legs until we pay attention to him which is how this game started.

He has discovered how to open the cabinet doors and pull everything out. This day he refused to look at me. I was interrupting his play and fascination with the steaming juicer on the stove. Yesterday he even pulled out a Tupperware and spoon and started playing drums (no help from me).

The other day I was working in the kitchen when I heard a thump and then a small whine. This is where I found him. He had figured out how to climb over the edge of the bath tub.
I guess he wasn't quite done playing with his bath toys.

He loves to clap. He does it all the time. We're working on getting him to copy other actions but right now he just thinks we're funny or feels the need to cheer for us.

Mr. Piano Man

Preston has always enjoyed music and loves it when we sing to him. He has recently discovered the joys of playing the piano, especially when I am playing.

I love that he can barely see the keys but he is determined to reach them and play.

Excuse the line on his face where he fell and hit his face on the foot of the coffee table. I promise I do not abuse my adventurous monkey.

that's right he is standing on his own, looking around (don't know at what), and barely even resting his hand on the piano.
