My Beautiful Family
Hey, guys. It's Jared, here, and boy do I have some great news for you. Sereen and I took Preston down to FotoFly in Draper, and we got our first round of family pictures! That's good news for you, because you have the privilege of looking at my beautiful family. Behold (click on any picture for a slideshow):

Our little boy is so big!
I know this blog tends to be all about Preston but he is the most interesting thing in our lives right now so I guess you will just have to deal with it. :)
He continues to grow and get cuter and more handsome everyday. I often look at him and can't get over how big he is and how much he has grown developmentally. I love that he definitely has his own personality and quirks that show themselves more and more every day.
Here are a few of his traits or quirks:
- He LOVES getting his diaper changed! It is such a joy to change him just because he is so cute about it. As soon as he is set on the changing table he is all smiles and laughs.
- He hates sudden loud noises. This may be common in babies but he seems to be particularly sensitive. For example, we had him on the floor encouraging him to roll over and when he did the 4 of us watching cheered. That sudden cheer caused him to go into hysteria and just wailed with the cutest sad face.
- He loves to suck on his hand
- He is always drooling or blowing little bubbles
- It's not hard to get him to smile. In fact I was trying to get a picture of his bubbles and was quite the challenge. Anytime I came close he would smile at me and suck the bubbles back in.
- He hates going to sleep and will only do so when his eyes are bright red and he's so tired he can't resist it anymore.
- On the contrary, anytime we take him in the car he is out like a light.
I think he is such a handsome boy. Even when he is blowing bubbles.
One of his smiles while trying to get the above pictures. This one melts my heart.
The man he gets his dashing looks from :) This is Jared icing my little sister's birthday cake. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the finished product so I will have to steal the pictures my dad took.

Rolling Over?!!
I know a baby doesn't normally roll over until they are 4-6 months old but this little champ rolled from his tummy to his back 5 times yesterday at only 6 1/2 weeks old. Fortunately I caught one on video so you would actually believe me.
At first I didn't believe it! I had put him on his tummy then ran to get the camera to take pictures since he was being so cute sitting up so tall on his hands (on this post). When I came back he had rolled over. I thought maybe he just fell over since when I set him down he was high on his hands. I turned him back to his tummy and there he went again. This time I grabbed the camera for video. When I put him on his tummy he almost rolled over before I could even get the camera back in my hands.
Getting Cuter Every Day
I have a hard time only picking a few pictures to post because they're all just so stinking cute! Because of that and so Grandma and Grandpa Heath and his out of town aunts and uncles don't have to miss out on too much of his growing up (I know it's never the same as actually seeing him but it's the best we can do for now) here are several pictures and a couple videos of our sweet little guy.
Just hanging out with daddy
"is that supposed to make me smile? you just look ridiculous."
"I guess I can give you a pity smile."
Preston tends to get fussy between about 7 and 9 at night. This is his favorite position that calms him down almost every time. It doesn't look very comfortable but it works.
Tummy time! He loves to hold his head up and look around at the world around him.
Notice that little stream of drool? He is always drooling or blowing little bubbles.
Our little bear all ready to go out.
This bouncer has become Preston and my best friend. He is such an easy baby but sometimes feels a little forgotten if we aren't paying attention to him. He does really well sitting in the bouncer where he can see and hear me as I get things done. The other day I discovered how much he loves these toys. I had taken them off because they get in the way but when I realized how fascinated he was by the toys hanging from his bassinet I decided to give them a shot. He will sit here totally fixed on the toys for an hour! The problem is, he's so cute I can sit totally fixed on him for that hour instead of being productive like I should be. Oh well...
