1 week old

Everyone needs one of these precious pictures

sleeping with daddy 3 days old
(I don't know why but blogger is turning this picture, sorry)

Doing what he doe best at 4 days old

This is his favorite position no matter where he is laying or how he is being held. Hand by the face and feet scrunched up.

 Just as he was sneezing

we love how cuddly he is

He liked when I tickled him with my hair. Unfortunately I could only get the end of the smile.

Preston Jared Heath

Preston Jared Heath was born at 8:17 pm Monday weighing 9 pounds 2 ounces and measuring 21 inches long. Sereen began labor around 9:00 am Sunday, and it was a very long process. After pushing for 2 hours, we finally had our son.

Apart from Sereen, he's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Sereen was absolutely amazing during labor and delivery, and she is recovering so well that I already have to tell her to let me do things for her.

Time for pictures! (I have Sereen's forgiveness [since no permission could be obtained] for posting these pictures of her. I think she's cute no matter what. She just needs a little convincing sometimes.)

The red spots are already gone. Just a little newborn rash is all.

Dis kid be straight up fly, yo!

I love my family.

Due Date!

Here I am today on my due date.
Unfortunately the baby is still inside the belly. I have been feeling quite a bit of aches and pains for the last couple days but no real contractions. The good news is the last time I felt these pains I had made great progress in one week. I'm hoping that this means things are still moving along at least at the rate they did before and we will have a baby within the week.

We'll keep you posted.

Refinished furniture

Remember this post? I promised you pictures when the dresser and desk were done. They have been done for about a month now. With the move and holidays it's just taken me a while to get around to taking pictures and updating this blog

Jared did a great job! I absolutely love the way the dresser looks.

Unfortunately the desk was a bit of a beast. Jared tried several different stripping agents to get to the pure wood and nothing seemed to work the way it was supposed to. After many long evenings working on it Jared finally got to a point where it would work. He then had to hurry to finish it before we moved to the apartment where we no longer had a garage.

The real tragedy of this story is that after all those hours it took one careless wife and a wall flower for this to happen....
I set a wall flower down on it's side thinking that if the oil part was attached to the plug it wouldn't leak. Unfortunately it did! with a quick wipe of a kleenex it took us right down to the wood.  Lesson learned.
