Pinata

My family often does a pinata for Easter and this year I volunteered to make it. It turned out to be a fun project for Jared and I but we sure were glad to finish it and get our kitchen table back.

This was our routine every night for about a week,
getting our hands messy to add one more layer to the giant Egg.

Finally it was time to decorate. Here is Jared cutting crepe paper for the feathers of what would soon be our Easter Chick.

We loved having Jared's parents in town for graduation and consecuently to help us decorate the pinata.

Ladies and Gentleman, may I introduce Miss Tweet!

She sure was a good sport taking all of these beatings

We made the pinata thick enough to withstand many blows but unfortunately the hanger wasn't strong enough to keep it up for everyone to get a chance to take a swing. (Sorry Liz and those who didn't get a chance). We'll have to get more creative to find a way to hold the pinata up when it's so thick.

That's all... Tweet was destroyed by my oh so strong husband.

And of course the best part for the kids are all the goodies that go flying.
