Easter

Easter this year fell on conference weekend and was perfect. We kept things low key so we could create new traditions and memories with our kids.

Saturday afternoon between sessions we colored Easter eggs. Preston loved it of course. Sierra was fussy until we finally figured out she just wanted to eat the eggs. Jared and I surprised ourselves with how much we enjoyed it. We even boiled more eggs. Instead of using the tablets we used food coloring and were able to experiment with and manipulate the colors more.

The plastic decoy egg was not good enough for this fussy face

Not even having her own cup to color an egg was enough

This is his "just waiting" face

Finally a smile. She just wanted to eat.

look at that joy and all the pretty colors

The kids had their quiet time/naps while we watched the second session of conference. Then our friends the Fletchers came over for a small egg hunt and BBQ.

Preparing for the egg hunt. Sierra was fascinated with the grass.

Jackson wasn't thrilled to take a picture.

Off they go to hunt. Both the kids loved it. Even Sierra got into it.

This year was the first time we actually hid the Easter baskets for the kids. It was so fun to see Preston search. He loved it. I also realized I have to be more sneaky when buying things when he's around. He remembered the few things I bought at Target when he was with me.

Preston was so sweet and excited to help Sierra find her basket.

 Family cuddle time during conference

My mom bought Sierra this cute outfit several months ago. It worked out perfectly for Sierra to wear it as her Easter outfit.
These two sure love each other

Daddy was doing all kinds of crazy things to get them to smile. It turned into the best tickle session with lots of squealing.

It's weekends like this that fill me with so much love for our family. The Lord has blessed us with so much.
