This birthday was so fun for Preston. He is understanding the concept of age and loved to tell people he was two and a half. Now we're working on telling them he's three instead of three and a half.
Right after Christmas we had been shopping and Preston found a Spider man watch he really wanted. We didn't want to spend the money so in an attempt to calm him down while he was kicking and screaming out of the store we told him he could ask for a watch for his birthday. There was not a day that went by without him talking about the Spider man watch he would get for his birthday.
He always asked for a Spider man watch but when looking for a watch we found a glow in the dark Batman watch. We figured he just wanted a super hero watch and having it glow in the dark like Daddy's watch does would be better than Spider man. Turns out we were right and he loves his watch. He wears it every day. I'm writing this post a month later (even though I will back date it) and he is still wearing that watch and makes sure it is safely in the tin it came in when he's not wearing it.

A good birthday should always start with a special breakfast. Preston loves any form of pancake.
At 3 years old almost all of his clothes are size 5 (we can shop in the little boy section now). He's always been big for his age but he sure is handsome.
We spent the afternoon down in Provo with my siblings and and the cousins. We started at the mall to play in the playground then get some lunch. Here are Sierra and Grant with there own form of posing for the camera.
I'm sad this is fuzzy but it perfectly illustrates how much fun he is having.
My cousin David brought his wife and son Wyatt down to play with us. It was so fun to see them.
Hanging out at Tyler and Jessica's eating strawberries. It was the first time Sierra had strawberries and she's a girl after my heart. She's also such a lady and did a very good job of not making a mess.
Jared's grandma Allred is so good about sending birthday cards. She makes sure that for the little kids there is something fun about the card. This year it was an Avengers card with a badge to wear. It fit perfectly with our semi superhero themed party. He's showing us his superhero pose and how strong he is.
We asked Preston what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday and he requested cheese cake. Jared was thrilled about having cheese cake but I really wanted to make something fun. Sine cheesecake doesn't go well with frosting I had to get creative. I used strawberry puree and chocolate ganche to make a web. It was a hit. Preston still talks about his Spider man cheesecake.
We needed help eating a whole cheese cake so we invited some of Preston's friends. He loved having friends over and all the attention. We felt so blessed to have a day full of people we love. We have the best friends and family.
These are his friends Lydia and Henry from our ward
The best brithdays are when they can last for more then one day. We gave him this Iron Man sucker which he loved the day after.
Lydia gave him this wood car on his birthday with a promise of a play date where they could paint cars together. It was so fun. Preston loves any form of arts and crafts especially glue and paint. We loved having an afternoon with friends.
I don't know when Sierra decided to grow up but she was not content to just sit on my lap or play with toys on the floor she had to do what her brother was doing. We sat her in the high chair with water and a paint brush and she actually painted.
