Stadium of Fire!

Thanks to Austin and Liz who weren't able to use the tickets they had purchased for Stadium of Fire we had the opportunity to go. It was absolutely amazing!
We headed down to Provo around six o'clock. Since we had assigned seats and it was super hot we were in no rush to get to the stadium early. After getting a decent parking spot we plopped ourselves down in a shady spot in the grass. There we enjoyed watching everyone walk by so excited for the big event while we ate our gourmet dinner of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and cherries.

If you have ever been to any big public event you know that waiting in line for the bathroom can be a joke. Especially if you are female. Since we still had half an hour before the show started we thought we would risk the line instead of having to miss part of the performance. The picture below is of Jared entertaining himself with angry birds after he had already used the bathroom and came back to where my line had barely budged. Oh the joys of being a woman.

Here we are on the farthest north seats on the west bleachers. The stage was pretty far away but we sure were grateful that we didn't have to deal with the sun.

Aside from being able to see Brad Paisley live the introduction was my favorite part. It was very inspiring and very well planned out with the timing of these parachuters, the fly by, and even the fireworks that coincided with the Star Spangled Banner. Even the little girl dancers did a fabulous job with their lines and uniformity.
This is one of the four parachuters who flew into the stadium. The first three landed perfectly but this last guy with the flag had a few problems when the flag caught on one of the barriers. In the process he took out the photographer trying to capture the moment. Fortunately no one was hurt.

Stadium of Fire dancers. these are the little girls I was so impressed with

Yup that's David Archuleta down there.
Brad Paisley was still amazing live. We thoroughly enjoyed his performance.
Jared was a little disappointed in the fireworks, he wanted more upbeat music and more explosions. I personally thought as a whole show they were well done and well thought out. I guess we just have a different idea of what makes a good show.

During the fireworks they had the dancers come back out to the field and form Lady Liberty.
Here are Brad Paisley's 7 semis getting ready to reload after the show. We couldn't figure out why he needed so many but I guess when you're a big shot like Brad you can do whatever you want.

Thank Austin and Liz for letting us go!
