Niya's Birthday

Wednesday was Niya's 11th birthday. Since mom and dad are gone we held off on presents and dinner and dessert of her choice but we still wanted to make it a special day. Mom left one present for her to open. Before getting ready for school she opened the DVD of Rise of the Guardians.

While they were at school I made this white chocolate m&m popcorn for a movie snack.

 As soon as backpacks were put away and before the kids dispersed to their various activities of the evening they enjoyed the movie.

Since we had an abundance of whip cream that needed to be used before it expired the only logical thing to do was make waffles with strawberries for a birthday dinner. They were delicious but I now understand why it was such a rare treat in this house. It is quite the ordeal with 6 waffle irons to make enough for this clan.
